US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker said that the demonstrations in Iraq and Lebanon share the same demands.
In an interview with Sky News, Schenker stressed Washington’s support for the protesters’ demands in Iraq and Lebanon, adding that these protesters took to the streets against their governments and against the Iranian interference in the affairs of both their countries.
Schenker also pointed out that the sanctions against Iran were very effective and the oil revenues dropped significantly.
