Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that the events taking place in Lebanon are repercussions of a position that was made, stating that “if the situation in Lebanon worsened, the crisis will no longer be limited to Syria, but will turn into a major issue for Lebanon.”
In a speech he delivered during a session on ways to enhance cooperation between Mediterranean countries in facing common challenges, within the framework of the World Youth Forum 2019, Sisi stressed that the need for the national state to regain its status.
He noted that the national armies are responsible for the stability and security inside their countries, emphasizing that the only country that survived the difficult fate is Egypt, “because the Egyptian army does not separate between Muslims and Christians.”
