Lebanon loses right to vote at UN after failing to pay dues
Spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric announced on Saturday that Lebanon lost its right to vote at the General Assembly after failing to pay its membership obligations for the past two years.

This as the Lebanese Foreign Affairs Ministry later expressed regret over the announcement, adding that the ministry completed all its duties in this regard.

“Regardless of whom is the responsible side, Lebanon is affected in its interests, state prestige and reputation,” the ministry added.

The ministry concluded by voicing hopes that the matter will be addressed as soon as possible.
