Syrians are happy but still cautious as churches reopen
A church in the old city of Damascus opened its doors on Sunday (May 31) to tens of worshipers for the first time after two months of closure due to the spread of the coronavirus.

As the Syrian government eased the weeks-long restrictions on movement, worshipers, longing to attend mass at the Zaitoune historic church, believe it is important to stay vigilant.

The Syrian government ordered shut churches and mosques as it banned public gatherings over the past two months before it decided last week to gradually ease the restrictions.

Health officials reported 122 coronavirus cases including three deaths.
