Lebanon is witnessing a "white Christmas" as the temperatures decreased significantly and will continue decreasing until Tuesday dawn, accompanied by thunderstorms and snow touching 1200 meters. 

On Monday morning, the Lebanese woke up to beautiful sceneries of snow topping many areas across the country's highest peaks, including Kfaderbian, Laklouk, Hermon, Bekaa, and Akkar. 

Even though it is not unusual to witness Lebanese villages topped with snow by this time of year, primarily since Lebanon is known for being a winter wonderland and for being one of the region's main ski destinations, the Lebanese people like to share footage of their snow-capped villages over social media every year to highlight the beauty of their country.
