Georgia president decries 'deeply troubling incidents of violence' in election

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili denounced incidents of violence at polling stations during Saturday's parliamentary election, a vote seen as a decisive moment for Tbilisi's democracy and European ambitions.

"I want to highlight the deeply troubling incidents of violence unfolding at various polling stations," she said after footage was circulated on social media showing physical confrontations at several polling stations.
