REPORT: Body of driver removed from under crashed concrete mixer truck

A man died Monday after his concrete mixer truck, which was parked on the side of the road in the town of Fatqa, plunged into a valley.

Civil Defense teams worked for hours in an attempt to rescue the man while he was stranded under the truck that skidded off the road due to a landslide and fell ten meters into the valley.

An excavator was used by rescue workers to remove rocks and open the road in order to get to the nearest point accessible to the driver, but he died before they could reach him.

The Red Cross then transferred the corpse to the Kortbawi Hospital in the town of Adma.
