Wave of blasts kill 19 in Iraq, scores wounded
A wave of nine blasts across Iraq killed at least 19 people and wounded scores on Sunday as the government grapples with a persistent insurgency.

The most serious incident happened overnight in Dujail, 50 km (30 miles) north of Baghdad, when gunmen and a suicide bomber driving a car attacked a military base, killing 11 soldiers and injuring seven, police sources said.

Later in the day, Iraqi police reported that a car bomb exploded next to the French Consulate in Al Nasira, causing the injury of at least 2.
