Soueid to LBCI: Today’s governmental crisis turned into a crisis of governance

Former MP Fares Soueid said Wednesday that the citizens were waiting for a solution from President Michel Aoun on Tuesday to end the crisis in Lebanon, but the interview did not ensure a solution and it went to the point where the revolution was not recognized.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Soueid stated that “the governmental crisis turned into a crisis of governance,” noting that the protesters are now demanding the resignation of the president.

The former deputy pointed out that caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri listened to the demands of the people and resigned and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has been trying to go in line with the situation, “but President Aoun is moving in the opposite direction.”

“Why Mr. President are you putting yourself against the citizens?” he asked, addressing President Aoun.

Commenting on the killing of Alaa Abou Fakher on Tuesday night, Soueid stressed the need for the Lebanese Armed Forces Command to conduct transparent investigation and provide the real facts of the incident.
