Kataeb Party Chief MP Samy Gemayel stressed that every project must be based on a study conducted by experts, noting that lessons must also be learned from previous experiences in order to build a future.
During a gathering on “solutions for public transport in Lebanon,” Gemayel said that the essential solution is to allow the private sector to engage in the infra structure development.
The deputy added that the main problem that represents a major obstacle for several solution proposals is the small distance between the mountain and the coast, which prevents any expansion to be done to roads, stressing that turns the public transportation into the only and best solution for the traffic crisis in Lebanon.
In the same context, he pointed out Lebanon has been suffocating due to the increasing population density caused by the large number of refugees, emphasizing the importance of a rescue plan in Lebanon. “There is no perfect plan, all the proposed projects are good,” he stated.
The Kataeb chief also asked whether there is any will to build a nation and move in the right direction, calling for conducting logical and scientific studies based on international experiences, followed by implementation; adding that the only problem is that the country is distracted with deals.
