A story went viral on social media platforms stating that a toddler fell from the third floor of a building in the northern city of Tripoli and that a number of hospitals in the city refused to admit him.
In this regard, the Lebanese Red Cross Secretary General George Kettani denied in a statement to LBCI these claims, explaining that the child did fall from the third floor, but the hospitals in Tripoli do not have a pediatric departments to treat his case, which forced them to admit him to the Islamic Hospital in the city awaiting his transfer to Beirut.
He added that the hospitalization director at the Health Ministry Joseph al-Helo has been contacted to book a room at the pediatric division at the American University of Beirut Medical Center.
Kettani noted that the child is suffering from severe injuries related to the brain and skull.
