Geagea to Aoun: You are the last person to preach against lying

After FPM leader Michel Aoun accused March 14 of deceitfulness, LF Chief Samir Geagea stated that "the last person who can speak out against lying in Lebanon is MP Aoun." Geagea referred to a fake photo Aoun had used live on television following the 23rd December 2007's incident whereby the picture depicted LF partisans sniping FPM demonstrators. He also referred to what he called Aoun's "fabricated assassination attempt."

In an interview with VDL (100.5) Radio Station, Geagea commented on the electoral law proposals and said: "Why did Aoun agree on the proposal endorsed by the cabinet since he supports the Orthodox Gathering's proposal?"

Geagea then admitted that he wasn't able to convince his allies to vote for this proposal, stressing that Aoun in his turn failed in the same mission and therefore approved the law proposed by the cabinet.

In this context, Geagea called on Aoun to pass the Orthodox Gathering's proposal in the cabinet and then refer it to parliament.According to Geagea, Kataeb, LF and their March 14 allies have presented the smaller districts electoral proposal and "Aoun must support it instead of proposing a law that most Lebanese are against."

On the telecommunications data issue, LF chief stressed that "Hezbollah and Aoun support the invasion of people's privacy since the party has its own wire tapping apparatuses."

When asked about MP Okab Sakr's scandal, Geagea responded: "Doesn't Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's position from the crisis in Syria contradict with the cabinet's self-distancing policy?"
