Nasrallah says only 13 Hezbollah fighters were killed in Qalamoun

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Saturday that the armed groups were defeated and forced to withdraw from all the conflict regions, adding that large areas of Lebanese and Syrian territories were regained.

Tackling the battles taking place in the Qalamoun border region, he said that they remain at the heart of the battle, noting that the Qalamoun region was a field for military bases, training camps and plants for making car bombs.

He revealed that only 13 Hezbollah fighters were killed in the Qalamoun battles, and 7 from the Syrian army.

Concerning the implication of the Lebanese army in the Qalamoun war, Nasrallah stressed that “they never intended to implicate the Lebanese army in this battles,” adding that they are keen on the safety of all the LAF soldiers and officers.

In this context, he asked: "Are the armed groups who attacked Arsal, killed LAF soldiers and officers and kidnapped military personnel, rebels or killers?"

Commenting on the local situation, Hezbollah chief called on all political parties to take into consideration the solutions presented by MP Michel Aoun, adding that the political situation became critical and cannot afford further delay.

“No one benefits from presidential vacuum,” he said.

On another note, he denounced the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen amid international silence, saying that Operation Decisive Storm was a failure.

On the 67th anniversary of Palestinian Nakba, Nasrallah stated that the region stands before a new Nakba [catastrophe] represented by the Takfiri project.
