Mikati: Kordahi’s resignation would open a door to addressing Gulf row
Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on Friday that “Kordahi’s resignation was necessary after Gulf row, as it would open a door to address it,” adding that “Lebanon has been and will remain an Arab of identity and belonging, a founding and active member of the League of Arab States committed to its charters.”

“Lebanon looks forward to the best relations with its Arab brothers and to the spirit of historical ties that bring together our States and peoples,” Mikati pointed out.

He also explained that “they are keen to implement the provisions of the ministerial statement of the Government in order to strengthen Lebanon's relations with brotherly Arab States, and to insist on maintaining those relations,” underlining that “the government rejects everything that could harm the security and stability of Gulf countries.”

Mikati then called upon all Lebanese parties to put the Lebanese interest above all considerations, and not to offend in any way the brotherly countries or interfere in their affairs.
