Berri calls for parliamentary session to discuss Aoun’s letter
Speaker Nabih Berri called on Tuesday for a parliamentary session to convene on Friday to discuss President Michel Aoun’s letter to Lebanon’s Parliament in order to take the appropriate decision, procedure or stance.
Earlier, Aoun sent a letter to the Parliament about the importance of the forensic audit of the Banque Du Liban and all public state’s facilities, in order to “achieve the desired reform and aid programs that Lebanon needs at present.”
Aoun also pointed out in his letter that the forensic audit is necessary so that Lebanon does not become “one of the rogue or failed countries in the eyes of the International community,” adding that the “continued reluctance to hand over documents to the auditing company led to its inability to carry on with its mission and then terminating the contract.”
