Iran executes man convicted of spying for Israel

Iran executed a man convicted of spying for Israel’s intelligence service, the judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency said on Wednesday, after the Supreme Court upheld his death sentence.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported that the man, identified as Ehsan Afrashteh, 32, was arrested in 2024 and sentenced to death in 2025 based on what it described as forced confessions.
