Spinneys workers triumph

Judge Zalfa Al Hassan issued on Friday a judicial decision which prohibits “Spinneys” from dismissing any member of the constituent body of Spinneys workers’ syndicate in Lebanon.

Samir Youssef Tawk and Milad Barakat are two employees who were fired from their jobs when they tried to work for the syndicate to guarantee their rights and the rights of their fellow colleagues.

Spinneys employees hoped that this decision will encourage other employees of other companies to form their own syndicates.

The company did not comment on the decision, considering that its employees are already receiving all their rights.

In this context, Former Labor Minister Charbel Nahas’ bureau issued a statement in which Judge Hassan’s decision was applauded, adding that such decision protects the freedom of the syndicates and puts an end for the “fake fabricated” ones.
