REPORT: An exhibition that takes viewers back to the golden age of movies

As Tamara Ismail was preparing for her thesis based on old cinema movies that date back to the 60s and 70s era, one particular poster of an old Egyptian film caught her eye.

Tamara’s obsession began from thereon after, soon transcending into a full on search for posters of old movies.

Starting from Beirut, Tamara reached Cairo. The young director decided to showcase all the posters she found in an exhibition that takes its visitors back to a rare era in the history of Arab cinema.

Sabah, Fairouz, Farid Shawqi, Roshdi Abaza, Abdel Halim Hafez, and many others are now characters of Tamara's exhibition.

Noting that we’re in the era of internet and technology, every person still feels the need to go back in time, even if this means visiting an exhibition that displays posters of old movies.
