Childcare facilities in Lebanon have to meet certain criteria to guarantee the safety of the children put in their care.
According to the Public Health Ministry, the official authority responsible for these centers, a daycare must have a director holding a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sociology, Psychology or Health Sciences; a nurse and an assistant nurse licensed by the Health Ministry; a sitter and an assistant for every 20 children; a licensed physician practicing medicine in Lebanon.
Are these standards met by all child care centers in Lebanon? Are all the centers licensed?
In this context, the Public Health Ministry confirms that it forces all child care centers to abide by the law, adding that regular inspections are performed by experts from the ministry and an annual report is required to be submitted by the facility.
