Minister Charbel denies receiving list of detainees in Syrian jails

The media office of caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel issued a statement on Monday whereby it denied media reports stating that former PM Saad Hariri called Charbel to inform him that he will be sending a list including the names of the detainees in Syrian jails who will be released in exchange for the Lebanese hostages in Aazaz, noting that Minister Charbel has not received any list.

The office stressed that former PM Hariri told Charbel during a phone call conversation that the kidnappers have promised to send him a list, but he has yet to receive it.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 22nd of May. Only two have so far been released.
