The Lebanese Armed Forces announced Monday the removal of electronic portals placed at the entry of both, Ain El Helwe and Miye w Miye Palestinian refugee camps and replacing it with security measures to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians in Lebanon and especially those residing in said camps.
The decision comes in line with the plan established to preserve peace inside the camps and following a series of phone calls and meetings that have resulted in a positive collaboration to preserve security.
The army said in a statement that “the measures that were taken weren’t against the Palestinians but to face the threat of a group of terrorists that are a burden to the camps’ residents and to the Lebanese people in general”.
