Guterres: Credible and transparent investigation into Beirut blast must be conducted

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said on Monday that a “credible and transparent investigation into the explosion in the Beirut port must be conducted as well as to achieve the accountability that the Lebanese people demand.

Gueterres’s comments were made during a UN Security Council session on Lebanon whereby stressed that it is important to implement reforms to meet the needs of the Lebanese people onthe long term, noting that the UN is working to help Lebanon on the medical and humanitarian levels.
