Shooting at house of Zahle prison commander, inmates burn their mattresses

A number of inmates at Zahle prison for men set fire to their mattresses on Wednesday in protest of the ISF’s inspection of their cells.

Following the incident, unidentified assailants shot at the residence of Zahle prison commander Chawki Damen in Tamnin, damaging a Hyundai and a Jeep parked outside the house.

Security forces rushed to the scene and launched investigations into the incident.
