LBCI celebrates 41 years: From the generation that built its legacy to the one writing its next chapter

Forty-one years. More than just a milestone, it is a history written day by day, voice by voice, face by face. Since its launch, LBCI has been a witness to some of the defining chapters in Lebanon’s history.

It has covered wars and crises, kept pace with change, and accompanied Lebanese people in their daily lives, remaining present in the details of their lives.

But behind every image on the screen is a story of the people who made it possible: journalists, correspondents, news anchors, directors, producers, photographers, technicians, administrative staff, and everyone working behind the scenes.

Generations have shaped this screen, and each one has left its mark on its journey.

Because LBCI is more than a news channel, entertainment and programming have been an essential part of its identity over the years. It has been home to the Murex D’or, Miss Lebanon and Shark Tank, whose second season the station renewed, along with a lineup of concerts and special programs marking different occasions throughout the year.

This includes Akram Min Meen during Ramadan, hosted by Wissam Hanna.

Today, in its 41st year, LBCI is not simply celebrating its past. It is living through a unique chapter in its history.

A new generation is taking up the torch alongside a generation that witnessed the beginnings, lived through the changes, and accumulated years of experience.

It is a shared space. A space for learning and exchanging knowledge between the two. The older generation is passing on the profession and its secrets to the newcomers, along with the most important lessons that cannot be found in books: the experience that can only be gained over the years.

The new generation, in turn, brings with it the ideas and tools of the modern era, as well as a different perspective on media in a constantly changing world.

Between the two, the story continues, between one generation that built LBCI and another preparing to write its next chapter.

Because history is not made by the screen alone, but by the people who bring it to life, those in front of the cameras, those behind them, and those who believe that journalism is more than a job; it is a lifelong story.
