Rai: No party has the right to impose its will on all Lebanese
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai considered on Sunday that it is unfortunate how some political officials tend to impoverish Lebanese instead of fighting poverty through various political and legislative means.

Rai's comments were made during his Sunday's sermon whereby he said that “time drain brings us into an economic crisis that harms thousands of Lebanese.”

He emphasized that resolving this crisis with national courage does not affect the dignity of Lebanon. Instead, it is the exposure of Lebanese to unemployment, poverty and Arab isolation that has a negative impact on dignity and sovereignty.

No party has the right to impose its will on all Lebanese people, strike Lebanon's relations with the world, disrupt the work of the government, and paralyze the role of the judiciary, Rai pointed out.

Rai also mentioned that everything that is happening today is in complete contradiction with the Lebanese system in all its aspects. The majority of the Lebanese want to get out of the atmosphere of war and conflicts.

“If some consider neutrality a difficult burden, we see it as the only solution to save Lebanon,” he said.
