Hochstein to Lebanese authorities: What is happening in Karish is a back-test

The London-based Energean Company started on Sunday testing pipelines between the Israeli territory and the Karish offshore field, while a Lebanese source familiar with the maritime border negotiations that are taking place between Lebanon and Israel confirmed that US mediator Amos Hochstein informed the Lebanese authorities that this is just a back-test.

The same source told AFP that talks are still ongoing because Hochstein is regularly meeting with the two parties, adding that the Lebanese side will hold a video call with the US mediator on Sunday afternoon.

For its part, the French Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed on Saturday that Paris has a clear contribution to the US mediation.
