US State Department authorises departure of non-emergency personnel from Qatar: Embassy

The U.S. State Department has given its non-emergency personnel and their families in Qatar permission to leave the country, the embassy in Doha said on Sunday as Tehran launched a second day of strikes in response to ongoing U.S.-Israeli air raids.

The department "authorised non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members of government personnel to leave Qatar due to safety risks," the U.S. embassy said in an advisory on its website which also warned Americans to "reconsider travel to Qatar due to the threat of armed conflict."
