Lebanese state employs quarter of a million employees and contractors

In Lebanon, the state is the largest employer where nearly 260 thousand people work in the public sector.

180 thousand of these people work as employees with tenure, while 80 thousand are contractors working in different sectors and institutions of the state, such as Electricite Du Liban, Civil Defense and the education sector.
