LBCI taps into latest political efforts aiming to end presidential vacuum
Nothing exceptional is expected in the 11th presidential election session on Thursday.

The same scenario is likely to be repeated at the level of the quorum game as well as at the level of the names and slogans game that will be dropped in the presidential ballot box, except for the names of new candidates and new designations through which political parties may convey political messages.

The most prominent of these is the Free Patriotic Movement, which, as usual, discussed the presidential issue before the session, and this time in a meeting of its political body away from the media.

The meeting did not lose sight of the dialogue dynamic, announced and unannounced, which is being conducted by the head of the movement, Representative Gebran Bassil, in the center of which is the presidential priorities paper before discussing the identity of the future president, according to informed sources.

Before, during, and after any presidential session, Bassil meets figures and conducts intensive discussions, dedicating them to deliberating ideas and listening to the various points of view on the presidential election.

Since there is no preference for one name over another, the sources indicated that agreement on the government program, the president of the republic, and the government team, must precede deliberation in names. When this is done, the names that can implement the program will be agreed upon.

The presidential efforts were not limited to the head of the FPM. Representative Neemat Frem joined the list of independent candidates during a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture as part of a parliamentary tour.

Frem warned that the delay in electing a president for more than three months would lead to the dissolution and collapse of state institutions. Frem also called for speedy agreement on electing a president for the republic, presenting himself as one of the candidates.
