Israeli army issues warning to south Lebanon residents over movement during ceasefire

The Israeli army issued an urgent warning on Monday, calling on residents of southern Lebanon to restrict their movement in a wide area near the border, citing ongoing security concerns during the ceasefire.

In a statement, army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said Israeli forces continue to maintain their positions in southern Lebanon in response to what he described as continued militant activity by Hezbollah.

The statement urged civilians, “for your safety and the safety of your families,” not to move south of a line of villages including Mazraat Byout el-Saiyad, Majdal Zoun, Zibqin, Yater, Srebbine, Haddatha, Beit Yahoun, Shaqra, Majdal Selm, Qabrikha, Froun, Zawtar al-Gharbiya, Yahmar al-Shaqif, Arnoun, Deir Mimas, Marjeyoun, Ebel el-Saqi, al-Mari, Kfarchouba, Ain Qinya, and Ain Aata.

It also warned against approaching the Litani River and the valleys of al-Salouqi and al-Salhani.

In addition, residents were instructed not to cross into or return to dozens of frontline villages, including Naqoura, Aita al-Shaab, Bint Jbeil, Maroun al-Ras, and Khiam, among others.
