According to an Israeli military spokesman, the airstrikes launched by the Israeli military against Syrian targeted three Syrian SA-5 and SA-17 aerial defense batteries.

The SA-17 is a mobile medium-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system designed to defend field troops and logistical installations against air threats. The missile length is 5.5 meters, diameter 40 centimeters and it weighs 720 kilograms. It has a maximum range of 50 kilometers. It can shoot at 6 targets at once with a probability of hitting one target with one missile reaching between 70 to 90% for aircrafts and between 70 and 80% for helicopters.
The SA-5 has a length of 10.8 meters, diameter of 86 centimeters and weighs 7.5 tons. It has a maximum range of 255 kilometers and the probability of hitting target reaches 98%.
