Bahraini court jails 14 Shiites for beating Pakistani national to death

A Bahraini court sentenced on Monday a 15-year jail term for 14 Shiites for killing a Pakistani national in the city of Manama during the 2011 uprising.

The court found the defendants guilty of beating the victim to death "for terrorist purposes."

Lawyers of the defendants said their clients were "tortured" while in prison in 2011.

Dozens of Shiites have been jailed over accusations of involvement in riots since February 2011, when the uprising against the ruling dynasty erupted in Bahrain.

It is worth mentioning that at least 80 people were killed in Bahrain since February 2011.
