REPORT: Families of inmates on hunger strike stage fresh sit-in
Families of the Islamist inmates protested on Tuesday outside the Roumieh prison as the prisoners continued their hunger strike for the fourth consecutive day.

The families called for a general amnesty for prisoners, raising placards, photos and slogans for their demands.

The sit-in coincided with the presence of representatives of Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouq and the Dar al-Fatwa who were trying to convince the prisoners to end their hunger strike.

On Saturday, Radical cleric Sheikh Khaled Hoblos declared a mass hunger strike in Lebanese prisons to press for a general amnesty be given to all prisoners.
