MP Jumblatt holds series of meetings in Turkey, discusses Druze in Idlib and situation in Syria

Head of the Democratic Gathering bloc, MP Taymour Jumblatt held a series of meetings in Turkey, in the presence of the accompanying delegation that includes Industry Minister Wael Abou Faour and the Foreign Affairs Commissioner at the Progressive Socialist Party Zaher Raad.

 

The discussions focused on the general situation, mainly the conditions of the Druze of Idlib, in light of the current security developments in the region and means to guarantee protection and safety. The discussions also tackled the situation in Syria, the issue of the refugees and the bilateral relations.

 

Jumblatt and his accompanying delegation started their meetings at the Turkish Foreign Ministry's headquarters with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sedat Önal, in the presence of a number of the ministry’s officials.

 

The delegation also met with the deputy chairman of the Justice and Development Party “AKP” Jawdat Yilmaz, with whom they discussed the situation in Syria, the conditions of the refugees and the need to reach a political solution that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people.

 

They also tackled the bilateral relations with the PSP and the regional developments and issues.

 

MP Jumblatt held talks as well with leader of the Republic People’s Party Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
