Health Ministry meeting discusses implementation of non-smoking law

A meeting was held on Tuesday at the Health Ministry where the discussion mainly tackled the implementation of the non-smoking law. Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud and the representative of the Economy Minister, Fouad Flayfel attended the meeting, while Interior and Municipalities Minister Marwan Charbel was absent due to urgent appointments.

In this context, Minister Abboud said that any amendment to a law passed in the Parliament, must be made in the Parliament, noting that they will take into consideration the point of view of the State Consultative Council in this regard.

Meanwhile, a number of activists staged a protest outside the Ministry, calling for the implementation of the non-smoking law.
