Pope, Patriarch Rai hold closed meeting in Vatican

The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai participated in the mass headed by Pope Francis, alongside Cardinal Leonardo Sandri as well as a number of Maronite bishops, heads of Maronite Orders in Rome and priests.

In his holy sermon, Pope Francis stressed that “peace in both Lebanon and Middle East can only be reached through the power or prayer."

Following the mass, the Pope held a general meeting with the Maronite delegation, and then held closed talks with Patriarch Rai where they discussed the current situation in the Middle East.
