ISF unit arrests three men on suspicion of belonging to an extremist group in Jbeil
The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that two Lebanese nationals and a Syrian were arrested on Friday on suspicion of belonging to an extremist group.

The agency added that the Internal Security Forces arrested them as they were strolling in the market of the city of Jbeil (Byblos) north of Beirut.

The security forces discovered photographs of various weapons on their mobile phones, and referred them to the ISF Intelligence Bureau for further investigations.

In recent months, several people have been charged with belonging to extremist groups, sparking fears of the spread of these organizations to Lebanon.

Earlier this year, the Internal Security Forces and Lebanese army have implemented a security plan in the eastern Bekaa region and northern city of Tripoli to crackdown on wanted armed men and various suspects.
