Head of Muslim Scholars Committee Sheikh Malek Jdeideh resigns
Head of the Muslim Scholars Committee Sheikh Malek Jdeideh declared on Wednesday his resignation over political disputes, saying that a new committee will soon be formed.

“Some scholars were aiming at forming a gathering amid the absent role of Dar al-Fatwa, which was gripped with a rift with some political figures,” Jdeideh noted in a statement.

He also revealed that the Dar al-Fatwa is in the process of forming a committee that gathers all Muslim associations to end extortion. The Sheikh also slammed Salafists and Muslim Brotherhood, accusing them of attempting to control the Muslim Scholars Committee and its rhetoric.
