LAF soldiers, armed men clash in Ras Baalbek and Arsal overnight

The state-run national News Agency reported on Tuesday that the Lebanese army and armed men clashed on the outskirts of the northeastern village of Ras Baalbek overnight.

The agency added that the troops targeted militants in the areas surrounding the town of Arsal.

The NNA reported shooting incidents between armed groups and the army's bases in the region of Tallet al-Hamra that is located in Ras Baalbek's outskirts.

Last month, eight soldiers were killed in the same region in clashes between troops and Syria-based fighters from the Islamic State group.

NNA also said Tuesday that the army targeted suspicious movements of armed men in the areas of Wadi Hmeid and al-Mesyada on Arsal's outskirts.
