Geagea: Honorable members of cabinet must resign to ward off danger on Lebanon
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held the current government responsible for the status quo on Saturday. He accused Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn and some security officials of taking uncalculated and rushed steps without any result-oriented study. Geagea said they are misleading people by confirming the deployment of al-Qaeda members in Lebanon and by making consecutive statements showing Lebanon as a “haven for terrorists.”

Commenting on the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain’s calls urging their citizens not to travel to Beirut, Geagea called on “honorable members of the government” to resign immediately to ward off the danger on Lebanon and to protect the Lebanese people’s rights.

Geagea said that the governmental majority prepared for the memorandum filed by Syria's envoy to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, to the U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in order to confirm the theory of the Syrian regime that Lebanon and Syria are housing al-Qaeda elements and in order to make it seem like the entire Syrian crisis revolves around this point.
