Students’ parents hold sit-in outside Grand Lycee Franco Libanais in Ashrafieh

The students’ parents staged Tuesday a sit-in at the Grand Lycee Franco Libanais school in Ashrafieh, to protest against keeping their children out of school due to the teachers’ strike launched after the administration retracted decision to grant them the new pay scale.

The parents supported the teachers in their right to the new pay scale, emphasizing their children’s right to education, especially with the academic year nearly ending.

The protesters threatened to escalate should the administration fails to meet the teachers’ demands and to reopen the classes.

They added that they will stage a wider sit-in on Wednesday outside the school’s premises.
