Minister of Agriculture Hassan al-Lakkis continued Monday his work visit to Jordan, where he met with the Jordanian Minister of Transport Anmar al-Khasawneh, in the presence of Lebanese Ambassador to Jordan, Tracey Chamoun.
Discussions focused on means to boost cooperation between the two countries in a bid to overcome obstacles facing Lebanese agricultural exports to Jordan.
They also tackled the formation of specialized technical committees to solve the problems faced by Lebanese exporters, including the transfer of goods in and out of Lebanon across the Jordanian border via the Nassib Crossing or transit to the Gulf States and Iraq through the Trebil Crossing, taking into account the high custom duties resulting from said transport.
Minister al-Lakkis held talks with Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tarek al-Hamouri, in the presence of the Ministry’s Secretary-General, Yousuf al-Shamali, that focused on the joint cooperation between both countries.
