MP Elias Hankash said Thursday that had the budget included a clear economic vision, the country would not have reached its current situation.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Hankash noted that the problem in Lebanon is that the reforms are dismissed either under the pretext that the country will never change or under the pretext that the reform takes time.
He added that radical steps are necessary in the budget, starting with the new pay scale and halting electoral hiring in the public sector, pointing out that the Civil Service Council must employ citizens, not ministers.
Commenting on the reduction of the public debt service, the deputy said that the banks must also assume the burden with the state, as well as Electricité du Liban.
