The retired servicemen staged Monday a demonstration on the road leading to the presidential palace in Baabda, to protest against a decision to impose a 3% tax on medical care, deeming it a violation to the National Defense Law.
They also protested against a decision to impose a revenue tax on their salaries, also describing it as “illegal.”
The protesters called on President Michel Aoun "to tell the ministers to look for another source of income for the treasury and to stay away from their rights."
