Jabak: Austerity measures did not target Health Ministry

Minister of Health Jamil Jabak said on Thursday that the Budget’s austerity did not target his ministry.

Jabak’s comments were made after meeting with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace whereby he stressed that it was agreed with importers of medicines to reduce the bill of medicines for incurable diseases.

He also asserted that securing the due amounts for governmental hospitals is underway, adding that contacts are ongoing in this regard between the Ministries of Health and Finance.

For his part, Aoun praised the efforts deployed by the Ministry of Health, giving full support for everything that would promote the health and hospital sector in the country.
