Prime Minister Najib Mikati met on Friday with Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdellatif Derian, whereby they tackled the current issues in the country.
Mikati stressed that the great challenges that Lebanon and Lebanese people are facing require first the national unity between all Lebanese components, as well as the unity of the Islamic row.
“We will not call for a Sunni boycott of the parliamentary elections,” Mikati stated.
For his part, Derian praised the efforts made by PM in various fields, especially at this critical stage.
He was then briefed by Mikati on the efforts being made to strengthen Lebanon’s relations with its Arab brothers, particularly with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
