Rai warns political crisis could lead country into the abyss

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rai warned on Thursday during a press conference on the occasion of the inauguration of the 2nd yearly council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Bkerke, of current political crisis leading the country to "fall into the abyss."

Rai added that social and economic issues the Lebanese people are bearing pose grave dangers.

Rai then stressed that the Church is working on applying the Apostolic Exhortation to spread kindness and fraternity in Lebanon and the region.
