Times of Israel: Israeli army says it seized Bint Jbeil site linked to Nasrallah's 2000 victory speech

The Israeli army has taken control of a site in South Lebanon associated with a landmark speech by late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, according to a report by The Times of Israel.

The report said Israeli forces seized a stadium in Bint Jbeil where Nasrallah delivered his 2000 "victory speech" following Israel's withdrawal from south Lebanon, during which he described Israel as "weaker than a spider's web."

It also cited Brig. Gen. Guy Levy, who addressed his troops by referencing the same moment. "Bint Jbeil 2000: There was someone here who spoke and boasted about webs and spiders. Today, that man no longer exists, the stadium is gone, and his words are worth nothing."

"Bint Jbeil 2026: Our forces control the area, destroying terror infrastructure and dozens of terrorists," he added.
