Raad: We aspire for Russian role to restore international balance
"Loyalty to the Resistance" Bloc leader MP Mohammed Raad said that the Bloc aspires for an effective Russian role that sturdily contributes in restoring the required international balance.

MP Raad was speaking during a political lecture he delivered at the Russian Friendship University in Moscow, attended by the University administration’s staff, instructors and students.

MP Raad is currently in Moscow on top of a delegation from the "Loyalty to the Resistance" Bloc, on its first visit to Moscow.

Raad highlighted Russia's central role in restoring balance to international resolutions, saying that the hegemony of the U.S. and the NATO have disturbed requisite world balances, thus posing a threat to international security and stability.

On Lebanon, Raad stressed that the resistance underscores the importance of partnership with all the Lebanese, exchanging viewpoints to determine Lebanon's top interests. He said the resistance seeks to find solutions to existing differences over crucial matters through national dialogue. "We consider this [national dialogue] as the sole way to put an end to divisions in the country", Raad noted.

Raad also considered that targeting the resistance's arms is “an utterly Israeli demand”, noting that Israel is permanently posing a threat to Lebanon's security, stability and resources.

On the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), Raad said "we will not be surprised if the STL is turned into a crossing arc for international tutelage on Lebanon, its security, stability and sovereignty."

On the current situation in the Arab world, Raad said theAmerican pressure on Syria does not aim at supporting requisite reforms but rather penalizing Syria on its supportive stand towards the resistance and changing the already-existing balances in the region.
