There is no doubt that one of the most prominent achievements on the Lebanese scene in 2018 is holding the parliamentary elections for the first time based on proportional representation, after extending the mandate of the previous parliament three times since 2009.
However, the new law and the people’s eagerness to practice their democratic rights were not reflected in the turnout, which failed to reach 50%, with a percentage of 49.70.
